Issue 8 - Bouquet goes to Pat Whetton
Sian Wainwright and Pat Whetton

Show your appreciation for a friend, fellow member of the community or family member and surprise them with a fresh bouquet of flowers courtesy of All Things Local and The Flower Shop.

The recipient of this issue’s bouquet is Pat Whetton, a teaching assistant at Kilburn Junior School. She was nominated by Nicola Wainwright from Kilburn. Here’s the nomination:

"I would like to nominate Mrs Pat Whetton, teaching assistant at Kilburn Junior School. This lovely lady goes above and beyond her role. She has served many years at the school and the children love her. Pat has helped my daughter, Sian (10) through a very difficult time – her Grandma’s long illness and was a great support when she passed away. Pat would ask daily about Sian’s ‘mama’s’ well-being and would often send love, flowers, cards and come to the school gate to talk to my mum (Sian’s mama) in person. Mrs Whetton is a very special person who deserves a bouquet – please could you surprise her at school. Many thanks." Mrs Nicola Wainwright

Nominating is easy. All you have to do is state in no more than 100 words who you are nominating, which area they live in and the reason’s why you are nominating them.

The only rule is that the person receiving the flowers must live or work within the distribution area of All Things Local (listed on the cover). Just write your nomination on a piece of paper and post to Friendship Blooms, All Things Local, 74 Woodhouse Road, Kilburn, Belper, Derbyshire DE56 0NA or email your nomination to putting Friendship Blooms as the subject. Please include your full name, address and telephone number on your nomination.

Closing date for nominations for the next issue: Friday 5 September 2008

What you've been saying about All Things Local...

“ I thought I would just take a moment to let you know what kind of response I have received from advertising in All Things Local magazine. I can certainly say that the response has been even better than I expected and certainly has more than paid for the ads already and, as many of the clients have become regulars, I expect that to continue. It's also interesting to see how pleased existing clients are to see the ads.“

Peter Waugh (Amber Feet)
