The recipient of this issue’s bouquet is Syd Spencer of Belper. He was nominated by one of his daughters Barbara Partridge who now lives in Devon. Here’s what Barbara had to say:
I nominate our father, Syd Spencer, who at 96 is one of Belper's oldest residents.
Syd lives independently in the same house that he bought in 1935. He is an inspiration to his family. Widowed 4 years ago, he cooks for himself, shops in Belper when he can, and has the occasional meal out. Dad maintains his garden, enjoying vegetables and particularly flowers and it would be lovely if this nomination were to be successful. His children's families live away from Belper, and it would help us tell him what a brilliant Dad, Grandad, and Great Grandad he really is.” Barbara Partridge
