L to R: Claire Hague, son Adam & Claire Paulson.

The recipient of this issue’s bouquet is Claire Paulson of Kilburn. She was nominated by Claire Hague on behalf of Horsley Woodhouse Pre-School committee and staff. Here’s what they had to say:

"Claire is the chairperson of the pre-school but does above and beyond her duties for this role.  She has recently been quite ill but still manages to chair the meetings with a happy friendly smile; nothing seems to be too much trouble.  Her fundraising and enthusiasm is invaluable. She is not only the chairperson but a very good friend to many.  We would just like to say a big thank you to her." Horsley Woodhouse Pre-School committee & staff.

Nominating is easy. All you have to do is state in no more than 100 words who you are nominating, which area they live in and the reason’s why you are nominating them. The only rule is that the person receiving the flowers must live or work within the distribution area of All Things Local (listed on the cover). Just write your nomination on a piece of paper and post to Friendship Blooms, All Things Local, 74 Woodhouse Road, Kilburn, Belper, Derbyshire DE56 0NA or email your nomination to karyn@allthingslocal.co.uk putting ‘Friendship Blooms’ as the subject. Please include your full name, address and telephone number on your nomination.

L to R: Katrina Kent, Leanne Whysall & baby Sophie

The recipient of this issue’s bouquet is Katrina Kent of Belper. She was nominated by her daughter Leanne Whysall also of Belper. Here’s what Leanne had to say:

"I would like to nominate my mum, Katrina Kent for a bouquet of flowers this month. She is the best!! My mum is my best friend and she would do anything for me. She has helped so much since the day my daughter Sophie was born and has been there for me whilst setting up my new business, Stately Brides. She’ll look after Sophie for an hour whilst I go to the bank, come round to do my ironing and has given me her total support of our new business. She is truly amazing and I love her to bits. Without my mum, Stately Brides would not have been possible and I would have had to return to work and leave Sophie full time; now I have the best of both worlds and get to see loads of my mum too. Please, please, please could you send her one of the amazing bouquets?" Leanne Whysall

Nominate someone to receive the next bouquet: All you have to do is state in no more than 100 words who you are nominating, their address and the reason’s why you are nominating them. You can nominate more than one person if they are living at the same address... and remember flowers don’t just have to be for women!

The only rule is that the person receiving the flowers must live or work in Belper. Issue 1 Ripley Edition - Bouquet goes to Alex Robinson
friendship blooms - ripley edtion

Families and friends are precious – they are people to be appreciated, admired and loved. All Things Local has joined forces with Julie Carnelly from Margaret’s Florist in Ripley to offer readers the chance to show their appreciation for a fellow member of the community – whether it be a friend or family member.

I would like to nominate Alex Robinson, Personal Trainer from Marehay to receive the first ever Ripley Edition ‘Friendship Blooms’ bouquet:

"I started training sessions with Alex in February 2008. I particularly wanted to lose weight for my 40th birthday in June 2008. Not only that but my friend had asked me to be Maid of Honour at her wedding in the September and I was going to be up against 3 bridesmaids whose average age was around 25! Alex made me feel great for my birthday and I’ve been going to see her weekly ever since. If I have to miss a week, I really miss Alex and her fantastic sessions. This is my opportunity to say a huge "thank you" to Alex for being such an inspiration." Karyn Milner, Publisher, All Things Local magazine.

What you've been saying about All Things Local...

“ Hi, I don't normally write to magazine editors, but I thought you deserved to know that your magazine (Ripley Edition) is really, really good. Any other free paper / mag goes straight into the bin (then taken out and put into the recycling by my wife). Your mag has something about it that makes me read it cover to cover and then keep it handy until the next edition. Keep up the great work - you deserve to succeed. Cheers“

Steve, Ripley
